Join us for a very special video awards ceremony celebrating the winners of the 2007 Lifecycle Building Challenge. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Stephen L. Johnson, RK Stewart, President of the American Institute of Architects, and Brad Guy, President of the Building Materials Reuse Association will give out the awards.

Open to professionals and college students in the US and its territories, the competition was designed to change how people think about, design, construct and deconstruct buildings. Contestants were encouraged to advance building industry lifecycle planning, inspiring the green building movement to look beyond a single iteration of a building: because buildings take a major toll on the environment, the Challenge called upon its contestants to address real world issues.

Winning projects will be on display and awards will be given in the following three categories:

  • Building: an entire building from foundation to roof
  • Component: a single building assembly, system, or connector
  • Service: a policy, tool, or practice
